New Delhi, July 1 (G’nY News Service): A sudden earthquake struck the northern and north-western regions of Pakistanthis morning. According to US Geological Survey, the magnitude of earthquake was recorded 5.5 on Richter scale. The depth of quake was recorded to be 189.5 kilometres.
The epicentre of the quake was locatedin Nuristan area of Afghanistan which lies in the Hindukush range. The range is 22km west of Ashkasham, Afghanistan. The tremors were felt in Islamabad and other regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab province.
The earthquake was also felt inRawalpindi, Malakand, Shangla, Murree, Peshawar, Batgram, Mansehra, Chitral, Mardan and Abbottabad.
There are reports of quake being felt in Lahore and Gujarat as well. No casualty or damage to property has been reported so far.
