Careers options related to land use, planning and development are enormous. Although a science background may be required in most, there are several courses that do not demand such a background. CEPT University, Ahmedabad; and School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi are among those that accept students from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Careers dealing with land use can be broadly classified into a) Land Development, Planning and Management; b) Urban and Regional Planning; c) Transport Infrastructure and Planning; d) Real Estate Finance and Management; e) Urban and Regional Land Use including Natural Resources. By and large, a science degree is required in most, although there are several post graduate courses that do not demand such a background.
