The Smart City Mission, despite the support from various ministries is lacking in
several goals including pro-poor approach in addressing several issues including
access to basic amenities. Critics argue that Smart City Mission does not meet the
expectations of the citizens, particularly those at the lowest rung of economic and
social development.
