A great article on Muslims in India. Yes they are not monoliths. They are just as diverse as Hindus with their own identities I wish some more was there about Muslim identity politics.
This issue of GnY comes at a very critical time when the entire country is under a lockdown and going through one of the most difficult tests of its character. The issues taken up by the authors makes the reader pause and reflect on incidents from their own lives where they have witnessed or faced caste based discrimination first hand. This issue gives us an opportunity to outgrow this mindset and come out of this crisis as a reinvented, caste free nation.
