Should the State fund Elections in India?

Conducting large scale rallies for elections requires massive funds. In the absence of equitable access to funds for campaigning, not all parties can reach out to the electorate.

Abstract: While public funding of elections would cost the exchequer a bomb, public interest demands that the state earmarks subsidies to clean up its democratic polity.
