Biodiversity Hotspots in India

Hotspots are highly endemic rich biodiversity areas which are also threatened with human activities. A view of Andaman Island with a wall of endemic forests in the backdrop.

Abstract: Four biodiversity rich areas in India have been designated as the hotspots by the Conservation International. Hotspots mandate greater conservation efforts at a local, national and global level.
